2023 NEC UPDATE Service/feeder conductor sizing for single-family dwellings now found in Section 310.12 (was Table 310.15(B)(7) in prior editions). The 83% residential sizing rule is preserved. For NYC commercial work, revert to standard Table 310.16.

NYC NOTE NYC adopts Section 310.12 for single-family dwellings. For the GEC: NEC allows #6 Cu max to a ground rod, but NYC inspectors enforce the full Table 250.66 for structural steel and water pipe bonding — always verify.

2023 EV RULE Per NEC Article 220.57 and Article 625: EVSE cannot be included in the 40% demand discount. It must be added at 100% of nameplate (minimum 7,200 VA) after all other demand calculations. Exception applies only if an approved EMS (NEC 625.42 / 750.30) is installed — confirm with AHJ.
